License Puzzle

5DENOUS

I drove behind this license plate for a while on my way in to work yesterday. There have been multiple times I've thought I should blog, or make a blog, about the variety of personal license plates I've seen-obviously it wouldn't go very far since I don't ever go very far...so we'll just stick with blogging about it.

Whether it's curiosity as to the story behind the name or just wondering what the hey it even is supposed to say...which seems sometimes to be the majority...they're always intriguing to me.

Well, this one is a 'what the hey does that mean' situation.

Sometimes not being able to figure them out bugs me so much that I get the urge to pull up next to them and ask. Luckily I've never gotten the actual nerve to do so.

Gary and I have just assumed it's some sort of family name maybe? I also got the possible '50-NO-US' from a coworker but that doesn't make any sense.

Hmm...

Then on my drive home I saw this:

REAPER2

This one is more so funny to me because Gary plays a video game called Mass Effect, and the 'bad guys' on there are called the Reapers.

Thoughts?!

6 Months

Halfway to one year old. Holy cow kiddo. You are fun, definitely vocal and so curious! We are so excited to share this fun journey with you as you continue to explore and investigate the world around you. As a side note, I may have gone a little cray cray with the pictures below, but hey-some of them are just too funny and capture you so well.

So, what's new with you?
  • You're weighing in at 14 lbs 5 oz (you've gained weight so that's good, we're mixing your formula differently so you get more calorie intake-we're still kind of 'solving' that situation but you're doing great, pal!)
  • You sit up now like a pro
  • You have been blowing raspberries even more now when you're tired and/or not happy. It's quite the challenge not to just laugh at it because it's so funny.
  • You are so grabby. Constantly reaching for things and just very curious towards your surroundings.
  • You have started to grab onto faces more and then 'eat' at whomever may be the victim. No teeth, so no worry. It's a good mix of odd and funny, still needing to capture it.
  • You're still sleeping great but have recently been waking up once, either late night or early morning and taking a good 5.5 oz, which is great that you're getting more...if only it'd be during the day:) Could be worse, so no complaining here.
  • Not crawling yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's sometime soon. You are starting to push up more onto your legs and scooting backwards.
  • You're out of your baby bath tub and straight into the sink with a towel for padding. Definitely less splash attacks from you that way.
  • You're still a droll machine and chomping on almost anything-we continue to wonder when you'll break through with teeth or if you'll just be 'teething' for a long while.
  • You have recently started messing with your car seat shade. It cracks both us and you up-you grab onto it and move it to the bottom no matter how often we adjust it back.

These are the adorable pictures I couldn't resist sharing.Want me to caption them? Don't mind if I do..

 Whattt?!

 Me?!

Muahahaha!

Also wanted to show you're good 'what the hey?!' face. Man you have this face nailed down and wore it strong while I snapped some pictures of the two of us.

It's hard for us to even believe the many changes and milestones you have reached thus far. Seems it was just yesterday that we were taking in every inch of you for the first time in awe of what God blessed us with. Don't worry, we still are, every day you bring a smile to our faces and we count our blessings more and more.

Words cannot express the joy you bring to us and those around you. You are so loved and we are so proud to be your parents, Caden. Cheers to 6 months and more to come. Love you buddy.

Bunch of Luv Bugs

Valentines Day, I could take it or leave it. I enjoy it because who doesn't love love?! I could leave it because who wants to force love?!

Gary and I have preferred to celebrate any anniversaries, birthdays, and love bug holidays with some good qt. As life will have it we tend to get too busy and don't slow down enough to just take a deep breath and relax.

Being busy with the week, and knowing we weren't going to go out, the thought of planning for dinner hadn't even really happened for either of us. But after throwing some tilapia and brussel sprouts under the broil and nuking some potatoes we had a nice little dinner at the table and then broke into the box of chocolates Gary got me.

Sleeping baby, box of chocolates and time with my boo-perfect.

It's the simple moments that sometimes matter the most. Love this man and so grateful I get to share many more Valentines Days with him:)

5 Months

What? 4 months seemed like just yesterday? Just in blog world buddy. You are FIVE whoppin' months old. Wowzers.

  • You are squealing all the time.
  • Recently started making spitting sounds.
  • We just went to a check up with Dr. Hattar (amazing doctor we've been seeing for your milk allergy) and you lost some weight. meh. But, in our (yours and ours) defense you have been sick again and your appetite hasn't been as good due to the congestion in your nose. She did recommend cool mist humidifier to help the swelling in your little nose, after running that in your room last night you seemed better today-that's always a good sign!
  • You had a few more tries at rice cereal, some really successful, others not. With advice from the doctor we'll wait to start that again at 6 months and just focus on getting your weight back up. (13lb 1oz to be exact)
  • You sure do hate the nose suction. I know most all babies do, but dang do you get mad.
  • You sure do like to stand, with help of course. You're not as content just laying on your back-you'd much rather stand and bounce around.
  •  Everything that is within reach is starting to be fair game for you and destined to go into our mouth
  • You are grabbing at your feet and think it's just so funny when we play with them
  • Multiple times I have been holding you and talking to someone and slowly you'll work your hands up and over my mouth. It cracks me up each time. You are so intrigued with the mouth and love watching people talk. It's been recently that you've reached out to touch it more and more, just something that's quirky and funny. A few times I've been talking about you when you do that, which makes it even better because it's just as if you are hushing me to not talk about you. Pretty darn cute.
  • Not only have you been grabbing at the mouth but also just focusing in and navigating our faces. Seems like you are so exploratory with features right now-it's so fun to watch.
  • We keep thinking you'll be up and crawling soon, you're so wiggly-can only imagine how quick you'll take off on that...(maybe)
  • You're drooling and gnawing on everything, but as before in your 3 month (?) update you don't seem to be teething. I've heard, and believe that 'teething' can last for a long while before a tooth even breaks through. Either way, no teeth here yet for you.
Start of this photo shoot you weren't having it, but that changed quickly.

(Mom, for real.)
Especially once daddy came in and entertained you.

You stiffen your arms and legs out in excitement or frustration sometimes, hence the above :)

It's priceless seeing you and your dad's relationship start blossoming. You are priceless in general, of course, but to see you grow into yourself and show your personality more and more is just the best ever. So lucky to have you as our son. We love you munchkin.

4 Months

Okay, sorry on this one buddy. You turn 5 months in just 9 7 (finally got to this and couldn't upload pictures..even more behind, darn it!) days-and your momma is just now getting your 4 months post up. Whoops. In my defense, it was the week before Christmas, you got sick two days before Christmas and that lasted a while (along with passing it on to us) and life has just been busy. Better late than never?

So this will mainly just be a short recap and, hopefully, I'll conquer your 5 months post like none-other.

  • Between the doctor visits being sick and your monthly check-up you are coming in at about 13 lbs
  • You are officially a tummy sleeper
  • The last two nights you have slept great, 7/8pm-5/6am, which was awesome because being sick definitely threw you off
  • You are reaching for specific things now and grabbing onto them
  • Just last night you had your second rice cereal feeding (one the night before) and you did great-you are catching on like a champ and really do like it. So fun to watch!

You are becoming more and more enjoyable and seeing you discover life more everyday is just a joy to watch. So blessed and so thankful for you and we love having the opportunity to be your parents. We love you to the moon and back, Caden!
